All skill levels welcomed! We offer many classes and workshops throughout the year including Pro D Day and spring/summer/winter camps. We have small class sizes with no more than 8 enrolled in each course. Our method to teaching is a multi-sensory approach, where individuality is encouraged.
Students will complete stylish projects while learning basic sewing techniques. Students will learn how to modify and layout patterns, cut fabric, construct, sew using a machine and hand stitching.
La Movida provides all students with thread, rulers, scissors, pins, and state of the art sewing machines. Fabric costs are separate averaging approximately $40 per term. Payments for fabric costs are collected mid-term.

Time to start creating! In this course, students will complete stylish, on-trend projects while learning basic sewing techniques. Students will learn how to determine the perfect fabric choice for their project, modify and layout patterns, cut fabric, construct garments and seam finish. This fall season, students will be making a color blocked pullover sweatshirt with front zipper, a pair of joggers and a quilted pillow. Price for 14 classes (1.5 hours per class) running September 10th – December 15th. Join anytime if a spot is available. Ready to make your design dreams a reality? Developed with the budding fashion designer in mind, this course teaches students to sketch, design and construct their own mini collection. Throughout this course, students will use their pre-existing sewing knowledge to take on fashion/technical illustration, pattern drafting and modification, and, of course, garment construction. One year of La Movida courses is a prerequisite for this course. This course was developed for advanced students who excel at independent, creative thinking, and need little guidance in creating basic garments. This course is recommended for students ages 11+.
