What’s New in our 2026 Summer Camps?

Vancouver Summer camps for kids

Summer solstice is only 20 days away and we have to talk about what is new in our sewing summer camps this year!

If you don’t know, for the past 14 years we have been hosting sewing summer camps for kids ages 8+ to learn how to sew and craft their own outfits, stuffies, bags and more.

What is unique about our summer camps is, not only is it 100% hands on, where kids learn how to actually do the thing and leave with a handmade projects, but every single week we make something new.

Lots of other sewing programs have a pretty ridged set of projects that are the same everytime, but we really try to watch the trends and make sewing patterns in house that are not only easy to learn how to make but incredibly useful and on trend with what is being sold in stores.

We have over 300 sewing patterns that we have made over the year, which means often we update our old patterns and bring in new, current, and high quality fabrics to make them out of.

So, do you wanna know what is new this summer?

Stuffies

Listen, we have to keep up to date on the trendy new animal stuffie and the special styles that all the kids find cute. Right now, if you’re not already aware, Jelly Cat stuffies are all the rage, and they are pretty unique and complicated to capture their cuteness.

This year our new animals are –

Our Summer dress is one of my most favorite projects we make in our kids camps. I made myself one when I first started working at La Movida and it is one of my most worn Me Made things.

This year we revamped this dress to include a technique that is called Shirring!
